I really hope I can hold onto this

Monday, July 31st, 2017 is my time to SHINE! I'm committing myself to a major change and I think I'm ready for it. Social calendar is cancelled which means less expenses and no drinking. Time to take a big breath and continue on... I'll be starting Focus T25 (I love my Shaun T workouts). 5:45 am every morning (hopefully) I'll be rolling out of bed - yes I'm gross - I'm going to sleep in my workout gear - grab my water and tie up my runners and popping that DVD in. I re-reviewed the Nutrition Guide and I absolutely love when shit is written out for me and I don't have to think twice about a recipe or what I'm going to eat. There are a number of options which is AWESOME so I can pick what I want, and sadly (for Jack) prep for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. Ultimately I want to work out in the morning and do minor cardio after work. But who's to say this will all happen - I'm just baby steppin' so far. My #1 GOAL is to STICK with...

Adult win

Being an adult sucks. I remember in my younger years wanting to grow up and doing what I want, when I want and how I want. If only we were rich and could be in that zen. Currently it's lunch time and I've paid my Rogers bill, and inquired about a pre approved mortgage. YAY! Living the dream life. I miss the younger years though - not giving a shit about what you ate, and now it's all about counting calories, intermittent fasting, some sort of fad diet and/or keeping up with a healthy lifestyle. Speaking of which.. here's my update for yesterday's food and exercise (plus so far today):   I had to make this picture huge because it was so fcking amazing! Boiled carrots/peas/green beans, roasted potatoes (garlic, pepper, salt and paprika) and lastly the chicken schnitzel! Instead of flour I've been using unflavoured protein powder and it is BOMB. Shoot I just remembered I was thawing pork tenderloin ... gotta make more schnitzel - I doubt Jack is complaining....

Boxing!!

Do you ever get so ticked off you just want to punch something? Me too. All the damn time. Sometimes I'll even punch the wall.. no, not smart at all but it happens. A friend has been going to Boxing lessons for about a month now (I think) and I always wanted to join but I'm extremely terrified - I'm mostly afraid my form will be incorrect and it will be a one on one experience. Other than that, I'm absolutely pumped! I really hope I enjoy myself because I hear boxing is an INSANE WORKOUT. There's been a Groupon for this place since forever, I always saw it being recommended to me on my account and I figure - about time. I better get my ass in gear! If I learn the proper form and enjoy it, I'm 100 % sure I'm going to get a dummy or a punching bag and start punching when I'm angry. I already checked out prices - expensive - of course for the good quality and cheap for crappy bags that will break in no time. I hope it's all upper body though and n...

A whole lot of mish mash

I really need to start taking my laptop home again. Blogging on my mobile just doesn't feel right. I imagine people who blog everyday at home with their nice desk and cup with pens and highlighters and shit and a coffee and a big ol' smile on their face. Me: Sitting slouched on the couch, smirking contemplating who I'm going to bore next with my life. Sometimes I wonder if anyone actually reads. And then there are times like these where I just don't give a shit. It feels nice to blog. Like an online journal. If I'm mad I'm going to rant about it. Like here's a mini rant about people who are always angry - if you are angry, or upset about something you don't need to bring that shit to work or where ever you go and whomever you encounter. You really want to ruin someone's day and bring them down with you? This is why I think the world is such an unhappy place. There are people that are having some majorly bad days and they take it out on the world....

PRE-WORKOUT

Pre-workout.  I may be in need of some. It's just past 1:30 pm - my lunch break and I generally go for a walk but since last week I decided that cardio and my steps are no longer important to me. My focus is mostly on weights (and healthy eating obviously) with very minimal cardio.  In my last post I went on and on and on about waking up so damn early. And now I'm starting to feel like the day is going on too long and my body is getting into a mild daze. I have this pre workout staring at me as I type this blog. It's by the company "Femme Fit" called - lean amino energy - it's pink lemonade flavour. I got this because I read about amazing reviews.  Just kidding.  I didn't read shit. I picked it up one day when I was in Winners and noticed 2 things - High in B12 and CLEARANCE. And I was sold. I'm not one to drink coffee (very rarely does it do anything to me) so that was out of the picture. I started off with 1/2 dose because I lurked...

I'm hungry. Again.

Ever hear (and feel) that rumble in your stomach and wonder if you're truly hungry or just thirsty? I do, all the time too. So far today I drank 3 of my water bottles (each at 25 oz) and about to refill for bottle #4. I'm 99.9 % sure I'm hungry because a) I haven't eaten since 11:00 am (and it only makes sense I'm hungry) b) Starting to get a headache and c) I just chugged some water and I have that weird feeling in my stomach like - Hey, your water count is too high for the amount of food you have eaten which is practically nothing. Low carb, high protein.  And man does it feel good to eat. Honestly, it feels like I have been starving for a day and I could dance around in happiness after that first initial bite. I am going to devour this bowl of food.  Only 15 more minutes until I have to get back to work. Why does lunch always disappear so fast when I am on the computer but when I am outside for a walk it seems like its forever  Hopefully K-sta...

IM BACK BABY!

Hey gym, sorry I haven't been around but this time I want to make it long lasting and for reals. I ALMOST skipped the gym and instead went out with K-star. Thankfully though, she was running late to head to her daughters school to pick her up and it was pissing rain out. Usually when it rains I contemplate for awhile about going to the gym. Constantly thinking of excuses of not to go but not today. I guess I had some fight in me to make it to Good Life. Today's workout: leg day!! I'm pretty proud of myself today because I tend to stick to the machines with weights. I hardly ever step outside my comfort zone and go to the free weights but I had some woman in my brain telling me to try a sumo squat with a dumb bell - just try something new - anything. Oh shoot I forgot to log I did side lunges too (no weights). Dang it. Well, I'm glad I tried something new. It's always going to be a learning experience :) Post gym. Literally. I have never been so HANGRY as ...

YAY NO SNOW

So far so good. It's 2:30 pm and there hasn't been snow as of yet. I just got back from my afternoon walk (and walked in and around the office) and I'm feeling good. Currently: 8,160 steps. Completed my morning routine of abdomen (200 assisted crunches) and obliques (150 ankle touches). Walked with Kristina and might I add, against the wind for roughly 40 minutes. My face is feeling a bit of heat as the sensation comes back. It felt like a winter day outside but the moment I came inside, I could feel the sweat roll down my back like a hot, summer's day. I can't wait for the summer. I'm not hoping for that super hot day where there's no wind at your back - more so the kind of day where there's a hint of a breeze and but yet you can still wear shorts and a light sweater / thick T-shirt. Does that make sense? First meal of the day: Long grain rice mixed with my santa fe chicken. I'm almost positive this is the last of my leftovers. In case yo...

It's meal prep time people!

What a busy weekend. Some days I'm sad because I have no plans for the weekend so I usually grab some wine, Kristina and play Just Dance (and also go to the gym in the morning) but then other weekends like this past weekend I'm busy!! I love having plans but when it cuts into my meal prep time I feel incredibly lost the entire week - like I go out after the gym and have a 12 inch sub or end up at Swiss Chalet and just binge on all the calories I worked off - like sure, yeah, maybe I "earned" it but really I'm maintaining my body and the whole purpose of my meal prep and working out is to change my body. My end goal for this journey is to appreciate myself inside and out - it's a slow process but I'm not helping myself by going out and skipping out on my meal prep. Well it's not really "skipping" the meal prep more so I have too many plans therefore no time for the meal prep part! This weekend I had (2) bridal showers for Christine + my ...
