I really hope I can hold onto this

Monday, July 31st, 2017 is my time to SHINE! I'm committing myself to a major change and I think I'm ready for it. Social calendar is cancelled which means less expenses and no drinking. Time to take a big breath and continue on... I'll be starting Focus T25 (I love my Shaun T workouts). 5:45 am every morning (hopefully) I'll be rolling out of bed - yes I'm gross - I'm going to sleep in my workout gear - grab my water and tie up my runners and popping that DVD in. I re-reviewed the Nutrition Guide and I absolutely love when shit is written out for me and I don't have to think twice about a recipe or what I'm going to eat. There are a number of options which is AWESOME so I can pick what I want, and sadly (for Jack) prep for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. Ultimately I want to work out in the morning and do minor cardio after work. But who's to say this will all happen - I'm just baby steppin' so far. My #1 GOAL is to STICK with...

The adventure has started

Yet again, I'm starting this lifestyle change. This time around, I'm not doing anything too drastic. Just minor, easy changes that I can work into my lifestyle: 1. No drinking during the week - ultimately I want to cut out alcohol period but let's be real, it's summer and every weekend I have a social gathering. Or maybe I should start being a dick to my friends, then I won't be invited to anything. Or I guess I could start saying no.. 2. "Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper" - This is the smartest way to live. Just think - you go to bed, sleep for 6-8 hours (and your body is fasting during this time) and you should wake up hungry. During the day you need to energy to function aka through carbohydrates and as night time arrives, you really shouldn't be eating a ton because you are preparing your body for rest, not functionality. This would make my life so much easier! Smoothie for dinner... but yet I would have...

Boxing!!

Do you ever get so ticked off you just want to punch something? Me too. All the damn time. Sometimes I'll even punch the wall.. no, not smart at all but it happens. A friend has been going to Boxing lessons for about a month now (I think) and I always wanted to join but I'm extremely terrified - I'm mostly afraid my form will be incorrect and it will be a one on one experience. Other than that, I'm absolutely pumped! I really hope I enjoy myself because I hear boxing is an INSANE WORKOUT. There's been a Groupon for this place since forever, I always saw it being recommended to me on my account and I figure - about time. I better get my ass in gear! If I learn the proper form and enjoy it, I'm 100 % sure I'm going to get a dummy or a punching bag and start punching when I'm angry. I already checked out prices - expensive - of course for the good quality and cheap for crappy bags that will break in no time. I hope it's all upper body though and n...

Anna's chili!!

I am so good at tossing shit together and calling it a meal. This is my version of chili. I used 1/2 ground pork and 1/2 extra lean ground beef + the following: - black and kidney beans - frozen corn - fresh tomatoes (pulsed in my nutri ninja with garlic cloves) - oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, cumin - red onions And it was glorious. I brought some for my lunch today and topped with greek yogurt, green onions and chopped lettuce. Low carb and super filling! I haven't been posting a lot lately mainly because I've been a bad little bitch. I have been drinking on week days and going out for chinese food and eating more than I probably should be. I've been a disgrace. On a lighter note (and for the most part) I have been keeping up with my workouts. I started Hip Hop Abs again.. I can't remember which day I'm on but I know I'm on week 2. My thighs are currently killing me because I did Total Body Burn a couple days ago and then Hips, Bun...

A whole lot of mish mash

I really need to start taking my laptop home again. Blogging on my mobile just doesn't feel right. I imagine people who blog everyday at home with their nice desk and cup with pens and highlighters and shit and a coffee and a big ol' smile on their face. Me: Sitting slouched on the couch, smirking contemplating who I'm going to bore next with my life. Sometimes I wonder if anyone actually reads. And then there are times like these where I just don't give a shit. It feels nice to blog. Like an online journal. If I'm mad I'm going to rant about it. Like here's a mini rant about people who are always angry - if you are angry, or upset about something you don't need to bring that shit to work or where ever you go and whomever you encounter. You really want to ruin someone's day and bring them down with you? This is why I think the world is such an unhappy place. There are people that are having some majorly bad days and they take it out on the world....

Livin the gym life

Okay so I didn't wake up super early yesterday but I still went to the gym after work and it was great. And you know what? Surprisingly my arms aren't a whole lot of mush. Because after lifting weights yesterday and chillen on the stationary bike, my arms were just slowly moving to my side and did not want to lift again. Yesterday was all about the biceps and triceps 5 sets of 10 - Bicep curl: 10 lb dumb bell - teapot dips: 10 lb DB (3 sets), 7.5 lb (2 sets) - tricep dips: 10 lb Db - bicep curl: 12.5 lb db (1 set) Machines - biceps curl: 15 lb (2 sets), 20 lb (3 sets) - tricep extension: 40 lb (1 set), 30 lb (4 sets) + 10 minutes on the stationary bike Using a 10 lb dumb bell for my dips instead of 7.5 was HARD. Some woman was using the dumb bells I needed and instead of waiting or rushing her workout I decided to murder my arms and try for the 10 lb.. I mean it was only 2.5 lb difference but holy shit what a difference it made!! I'm almost contemplating cont...

Leave in conditioner

Saturday rolls around and I have been dying to check out this new gym - it's in between my house and my work so I thought it would be perfect since Jack is working on Saturday (starting at 8:00 am and the gym opens at 7:00 am) so he would drive me there and I could check it out!  We get there and see signs for "GoodLife parking" but we could not locate which way the arrow was pointing. I swear I felt like the stupidest basic b*tch of life. Was I missing something? Was there a hidden sign that I just couldn't see or are my eyes failing me. Mind you I haven't had them tested in a good 6 years.. We circled around a couple of times until Jack was fed up (and so was I) so he dropped me off at the main doors and I went in.  It's 7:15 am and Aqua Fit doesn't start until 9:00 am. No biggie. I haven't been to the gym in so long it was good I went and got a good work out in. Did minor machines for my lower and upper body then walked around the track befor...

Day 4

Proud of my boo boo, Jack for getting up early (again) for an early morning gym session.  Today's focus was SUPPOSED to be strictly cardio but forgetting my towel and getting bored on the treadmill led me in a different direction. 45 minutes post cardio I saw the adductor and abductor machines were free - so I hopped on there and then had a chance to walk around the gym with Jack. Usually when I come to the gym I head straight to the women's section which is blocked off so no men are allowed.  The women's section also has less machines, less weights and less options. It's mostly cardio with a few machines and poor selection of weights. After I finished my legs I pretty much turn to Jack and I'm like 'yo I'm bored and I'm hangry - can we go' and sooo - he went to the men's locker room to shower and change. I on the other hand continued to be a dirty, sweaty and smelly mess and headed back to my home (the women's section) and would...

PRE-WORKOUT

Pre-workout.  I may be in need of some. It's just past 1:30 pm - my lunch break and I generally go for a walk but since last week I decided that cardio and my steps are no longer important to me. My focus is mostly on weights (and healthy eating obviously) with very minimal cardio.  In my last post I went on and on and on about waking up so damn early. And now I'm starting to feel like the day is going on too long and my body is getting into a mild daze. I have this pre workout staring at me as I type this blog. It's by the company "Femme Fit" called - lean amino energy - it's pink lemonade flavour. I got this because I read about amazing reviews.  Just kidding.  I didn't read shit. I picked it up one day when I was in Winners and noticed 2 things - High in B12 and CLEARANCE. And I was sold. I'm not one to drink coffee (very rarely does it do anything to me) so that was out of the picture. I started off with 1/2 dose because I lurked...

April 19 2017

Whaddup? Sorry been MIA again. A lot has been happening and it really grinds my gears that I can't share it on my blog. Let's just say something great is to come and once it's 100 % then I can share the news. As for this week - I haven't had any days where I did my IF - I'm literally always hungry. I haven't really been documenting my food because I've been all over the place but Easter weekend I was a bad ass bitch and drank Friday, Saturday, Sunday and had a couple of brewskis on Monday. I was even WEARING the beer because Ashly knocked over her beer which made it's way to my lap.. all over my new adidas leggings too - mama biss treated me and got some awesome dri fit leggings from.... drum roll please... COSTCO! $25 and I love them. Only comes in 2 colours though - blue and my favourite colour (coral) - Jack won't be too pleased about that.  So as for nutrition and workout yesterday: Nutrition / meals: Breakfast: banana Lunch: Green tea...

IM BACK BABY!

Hey gym, sorry I haven't been around but this time I want to make it long lasting and for reals. I ALMOST skipped the gym and instead went out with K-star. Thankfully though, she was running late to head to her daughters school to pick her up and it was pissing rain out. Usually when it rains I contemplate for awhile about going to the gym. Constantly thinking of excuses of not to go but not today. I guess I had some fight in me to make it to Good Life. Today's workout: leg day!! I'm pretty proud of myself today because I tend to stick to the machines with weights. I hardly ever step outside my comfort zone and go to the free weights but I had some woman in my brain telling me to try a sumo squat with a dumb bell - just try something new - anything. Oh shoot I forgot to log I did side lunges too (no weights). Dang it. Well, I'm glad I tried something new. It's always going to be a learning experience :) Post gym. Literally. I have never been so HANGRY as ...

Phew. Really dodged a bullet there.

PRAISE THE LORD. Hallelujah! I was so prepared to blog earlier today about how nervous I was regarding this afternoon. I had a killer workout / training session planned with a friend and it was just confirmed that it's cancelled and we both rescheduled for next Wednesday. Just thinking about it was giving me an anxiety attack (okay that was far fetched) but it gave me the sweats! This woman was training with a Personal Trainer at GoodLife Fitness so the workouts are intense and now she makes her own loosely based on the PT she had prior. She was afraid to tell me what part of the body we would workout because she thought I would cancel! I'm always up for the challenge I'm just terrified of trying new things (alone). If I have a partner or someone there with me, it's not so bad but doing something new without any guidance and possibly "failing" .. I'm not into. Speaking of trying something new, I'm 99.9 % sure I'm going to try boxing. There'...

THE LAST. MID-DAY. UPDATE.

I'm starting to think I should just post my blogs at night instead of constantly updating the same entry or titling an entry 'update on this' and that etc. So here's the last update during the day. Here's my second meal of the day (yesterday - if you didn't get the above memo). JUST KIDDING! Mom's homemade potato and leek soup. No cream, she used milk - I'm wondering to myself if it would work if I attempted the recpe with almond milk and made it vegan? Thoughts? It was delicious by the way. I can feel my stomach rumbling right now. But that could also be because I only had a carrot stick for breakfast and a strawberry. Whoops. Another one of my favourites that mom makes - beef stew with potato, beef (obvi), carrots, turnip and parsnip. She let the meat cook in the broth for hours so it was super tender. *mouth watering* I tried to make the same recipe but vegetarian only and I incorporated Yves breakfast sausages - barf. It was disgusting....

This week's adventure (So far)

Greetings. Again. Let's hop to it. Tuesday I was sort of fasting. I had my first meal at 10:30 am - leftover cheesy bread (from take out Domino's pizza) and it made my stomach do flip flops for a solid 2 hours!! I'm not sure if it was the carb amount or the cheese but I won't be touching that crap for awhile! (and by crap I mean cheese). Lunch: roasted veggies Post lunch: romaine, shredded carrots, croutons, ranch dressing Dinner: 1 glass of white wine, 1/4 pint of Canadian, 4 breaded and sauced wings, fries and gravy (with white vinegar too). Workout Morning: 100 abdomen assisted crunches, 50 ankle touches + 15 minute walk outside Afternoon: 35 minute walk (again, outside) Evening: 15 minute treadmill +  (all below 3 reps of 8): Leg extension: 55 lb Seated leg curl: 50 lb Seated leg press: 75 lb Hip adduction: 120 lb Hip abduction: 100 lb (usually I'm stuck at 90 lb) - YAY! Horizontal calf: 135 lb + 140 lb (3 reps of 8 for each weight) Wednesday...

It's meal prep time people!

What a busy weekend. Some days I'm sad because I have no plans for the weekend so I usually grab some wine, Kristina and play Just Dance (and also go to the gym in the morning) but then other weekends like this past weekend I'm busy!! I love having plans but when it cuts into my meal prep time I feel incredibly lost the entire week - like I go out after the gym and have a 12 inch sub or end up at Swiss Chalet and just binge on all the calories I worked off - like sure, yeah, maybe I "earned" it but really I'm maintaining my body and the whole purpose of my meal prep and working out is to change my body. My end goal for this journey is to appreciate myself inside and out - it's a slow process but I'm not helping myself by going out and skipping out on my meal prep. Well it's not really "skipping" the meal prep more so I have too many plans therefore no time for the meal prep part! This weekend I had (2) bridal showers for Christine + my ...
