Phew. Really dodged a bullet there.

PRAISE THE LORD. Hallelujah!

I was so prepared to blog earlier today about how nervous I was regarding this afternoon. I had a killer workout / training session planned with a friend and it was just confirmed that it's cancelled and we both rescheduled for next Wednesday. Just thinking about it was giving me an anxiety attack (okay that was far fetched) but it gave me the sweats! This woman was training with a Personal Trainer at GoodLife Fitness so the workouts are intense and now she makes her own loosely based on the PT she had prior. She was afraid to tell me what part of the body we would workout because she thought I would cancel! I'm always up for the challenge I'm just terrified of trying new things (alone). If I have a partner or someone there with me, it's not so bad but doing something new without any guidance and possibly "failing" .. I'm not into.

Speaking of trying something new, I'm 99.9 % sure I'm going to try boxing. There's a groupon going around that's just down the street from me - I think it's 8 classes or so for $40 (that doesn't sound right but I know it's a good deal). A friend from high school is doing it now and admits that it's an insane workout. I can't wait to sweat it out ... right after Christine's wedding.

Can you believe it's next week? Technically this week. It's Sunday April 9th!!! I have not finished the speech or the questions for this game we are involved in but there will be a huge weight off of my shoulders after the wedding.. then things can get back to normal again.

Today marks day 1 of my fruit, vegetable and protein diet. I want to feel fresh and clean (internally) for Christine's big day so that means NO wine, carbohydrates, grains, junk, cheese - except I literally just had a greek salad with feta. I won't be killing it at the gym because I won't be consuming carbs.

Nutrition
Breakfast: 1 baked potato (with skin)
Lunch: Greek salad with vinaigrette - feta, cucumber, tomato, red onion, lettuce
Dinner: 3 egg omlette with spinach and arugula topped with salsa, and plain yogurt.

Workout
17 minute walk this morning
57 minute walk this afternoon (lunch break)

I was going to go to the gym but upon leaving work I developed a massive headache and it also started to rain. Decided to have leg day tomorrow! Stay tuned.
Ps- this detox thing might be happening after Christine's wedding - as I am currently enjoying one of my last glasses of wine. #eveningwin

One of my mew favourite vegetable chips - brussel sprouts!! It happened by accident and what can I say? I'm in love! EVOO, mrs dash garlic and herb, seasoned salt and pepper. 400 degrees for 25 minutes and you have perfection.

Update on goals

Hello again. It's meeee... 🙃 Okay so goal 1 ✔️ Completed Speed 1.0 with mama bear. I completed the day with 10,162 steps. My dessert was literally a sliver of cake (sister called it a crumb) haha with 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, few strawberries and walnuts. And I made a low carb lasagna and guess what? It was a huge success! So my mom makes this beautiful hollandaise based lasagna with chicken and asparagus. I took it upon myself to grad 1/2 cauliflower head and grated the stems of broccoli as my base. Did a layer of the sauce, chicken, asparagus, broccoli, cheese, and added (4) spinach noodles for texture. Topped it with Parmesan cheese and BOOM. Magic was born. Other lasagnas for the family included turkey with tomato sauce, and then (2) variations of the hollandaise other than my own- one with broccoli and the other asparagus. I was absolutely thrilled to find out mine was a success. Especially since I thought it was going to be like soup. Don't forget that when ...

Sleeping.

I feel like I've always taken advantage of sleep. The power of sleep - not one of life's wonders. You get a good night sleep, you're able to function properly the next day. I never truly appreciated the act of sleep until last night. I'm in bed roughly by 9 pm maybe 9:30 pm and I'm a light sleeper. (perfect mom quality might I add) Jack on the other hand goes to bed around 10:30 pm or 11:00 pm. He admitted he has FOMO - F ear O f M issing O ut but in regards to TV / Facebook videos so he's up watching something so that's the reason why he doesn't go to bed at the same time as me. Well last night the Leaf game was on - and I can only assume that they lost because I didn't hear any screaming at the TV then again I didn't hear anger either and Jack's pretty loud when it comes to Leaf games (major hockey fan). I only heard around 11:19 pm that he was heading to bed. And then the loud breathing started. I can't really tell if it'...

Exhausted.

I am definitely feeling the after affects of eating crappy foods. Do you ever feel oddly tired? Especially since you're well rested and haven't over worked your body..? That's me right now. Although it's not odd at all. I noticed when I eat foods that have little to zero nutritional value my body reacts in a sluggish state. Over the weekend I indulged to a point where I just feel exhausted. I'm staring at the computer blogging and I can barely keep my eyes open . It's lunch time thank goodness so I could take a nap if I wanted to. However, that would be such a tease to my eyes and mental state. Today started off super frustrating as my co-worker did not show up. Generally Monday's are insanely busy. The office is closed on Fridays so we have messages from Thursday evening all the way up until Sunday night. The number of messages ranges between 20-40 and usually 30 (or so) fax messages. Returning those messages alone while having the phones ringing in ...
