Focus T25 with Shaun T

Gooooood morning!

So before I get into my day I wanted to confess to something. Last night after all that rice and broccoli and garlic goodness a few hours passed and I was hungry AGAIN. At first I went with the saying "oh you aren't hungry you're just thirsty" you probably haven't had water in awhile. So I drank my 25 oz bottle and a little bit. Nope. I was actually hungry. Although I know if I'm hungry I should have something simple like a protein shake or an apple with almond butter. Long story short I indulged with a cheddar cheese and jalepino bagel with light cream cheese (as if that makes a difference). And it was DELICIOUS. Yeah I went out of bounds but I knew I was going to smash a double day with Shaun T in the morning. And guess what, I did.

Waking up I was dreading the workout. Has anyone done a workout with Shaun T? Insanity? Max 30? I'm not going to count Hip Hop Abs or Cize because those are in a moderate category. When you sweat with Shaun t it's intense. Like imagine sweat (even after you wipe it) drip down your face, in your mouth. In your eyes. You don't want to stop but the burn from having sweat in your eyes is excruciating. That was me this morning.

I KILLED Total body Circuit. Breezed through the cooldown then took a little break. That was a mistake right there - I got too comfortable and let my muscles relax. Sat down, posted on snap chat and Instagram. Even made myself a green tea. Popped the second DVD in (Cardio) and was ready to rock. Both workouts start off the same - slow jog. High knees. High knee jog. There was no way I was going to push my body to the limits. I do not want every part of my body sore tomorrow... 1) it's not fun 2)  very uncomfortable 3) I have another double day tomorrow and lastly 4) we are celebrating my sisters birthday tomorrow and what's fun about an aunty sitting on her tush and not entertaining the kids?

Needless to say I finished Cardio but not with a full dedication which I what I normally do.
Also both these workouts were done on a complete empty stomach.. now onto food:
Brunch: leftover cauliflower rice with bok choy, peppers, chili flakes and a homemade teriyaki sauce (no ginger though).

I traveled to my parents in this brutal snow storm. Actually it wasn't so bad. So as usual when I get there I'm starving and thank goodness my mom is an awesome cook - and she knows I need low carb - so I had spaghetti squash with a chicken Parmesan sauce with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Mind you that was delicious and healthy as usual my dad offers me wine. And who can say no? That's my weekend cheat.

Did I forget to mention I made amazing hummus? That's my thing in the spring / summer. Nothing like hummus with garlic, chilli flakes, cayenne and more garlic.. anywho - today was a good day.

For dinner I had: Mandarin spinach salad, mom's homemade potato salad, chickpea salad, mom's homemade pea soup with a side of genoa salami. So that was my day. Now Kristina is here. We will enjoy wine and have a puzzle party. Hopefully we are able to put it together in one go.... stay tuned friends. Have a great night.

Dill Avocado Pasta Salad

Remember those leftovers from the quesadillas? I found a use for them. I would like to call this a scramble of leftovers with fresh dill, yogurt and avocado - because that's pretty much what it is. - cooked noodles (I used penne - roughly 2 cups - leftover quesadilla filling - 1/2 avocado - 2 tablespoons of plain greek yogurt - roughly tblsp of fresh dill - small handful of shredded old cheese Combine all and eat. I swear I didn't use a lot of dill but using the fresh stuff, it really comes through. And I just LOVE dill... it's the best. It's the tastiest herb (in my opinion). Staring at my lunch this morning - before I combined the ingredients I was thinking to myself "what the fck Anna. What were you thinking this looks absurd. Good luck". Especially since the avocado was turning brown.. it was very unappetizing and then one bite and I was hooked. I'm glad I didn't give this to Jack. I don't think he would have liked it. Recent

Boxing!!

Do you ever get so ticked off you just want to punch something? Me too. All the damn time. Sometimes I'll even punch the wall.. no, not smart at all but it happens. A friend has been going to Boxing lessons for about a month now (I think) and I always wanted to join but I'm extremely terrified - I'm mostly afraid my form will be incorrect and it will be a one on one experience. Other than that, I'm absolutely pumped! I really hope I enjoy myself because I hear boxing is an INSANE WORKOUT. There's been a Groupon for this place since forever, I always saw it being recommended to me on my account and I figure - about time. I better get my ass in gear! If I learn the proper form and enjoy it, I'm 100 % sure I'm going to get a dummy or a punching bag and start punching when I'm angry. I already checked out prices - expensive - of course for the good quality and cheap for crappy bags that will break in no time. I hope it's all upper body though and n

Today is going to be great

I was supposed to finish up this post yesterday. So the title 'Today is going to be great' was about March 16 aka yesterday. And the beauty of writing a blog about a previous day is that you can say what went right or wrong. Update: it was a great day. I still have yet to make it to the gym but I did make it a goal that one way or another I was going to get my steps, and I did. I will describe this later. Here is my food journal: For a morning snack (after my raisin bran muffin) I had a bag of salad. In the morning I'll pack romaine, croutons and dressing - in a separate container - then add the dressing to the bag itself and shake it like it's no ones business. It's genius really. Every leaf has an even coat and call me crazy but I think it just tastes better. Yesterday I used ranch dressing. My favourite meal made by mama biss - basmati rice with chicken, peaches, plum tomatoes and I added steamed broccoli. It's legit perfection. I have no ide
