Cheating.

Yesterday was more of a cheat day more than a meal.

Breakfast was pretty good - cantaloupe, strawberry and kiwi with a pecan turtle coffee (with chocolate milk and a bit of sugar like literally 1/4 of a teaspoon). For lunch I had carrots, celery and cauliflower in hummus and dill dip. Dinner, 1 piece of my low carb lasagna (my last leftover piece), Greek salad and Cesar salad (both homemade) and a slice of garlic bread. Now you might ask - where's the cheat?

Here's the cheat (and the thought process that went along with it): MAG'S COMING OVER!!

Mag and I have been best friends since kindergarten. That's roughly 25 years ago. She is my everything. She also lives a few streets down from my parents. She's one of those friends that you called so often as a kid, her house phone is lodged in your brain. There's no way I could ever forget her number. When the bus wouldn't come we would just walk home. When I was unemployed and she wasn't working on some days she would drag me out of bed for a walk. I wanted to walk but at 8 am when you didn't have work or school? Omg Mag.. and we would walk like 2 hours. On a sunny day, on a HOT day, rainy, snowy it didn't matter we would walk and talk.

Then I moved out. We would seldom see each other at parties and that was pretty much it. Dinners came around once every few months or we would see a movie. It was like we were dating and then started "seeing other people". We like lost touch or something. This weekend I've been at my parents ALL WEEKEND and so I texted Mag asking if she had plans on Sunday. She did. I wasn't surprised. But! She came over in the evening and we watched Riverdale! We talked so much only had time for (2) episodes.

I could go on and on but let's get back to the point - when you see someone you haven't in so long it's like a celebration. Obviously a happy one so you want to enjoy yourself and not hold back. Yes I had wine with my dinner and then I continued to drink when Mag came. She home made rum balls. I brought downstairs my hummus, beer crackers, smoky BBQ chips and then later we had leftover ice cream cake.

Oh and before I forget I had like (5) spring rolls for my appetizer prior to dinner. I wish Jack (he's my boyfriend) came over. He would have ate them all before me so I wouldn't have had a chance to have so many cheats. Haha!

After all those salty and sweet treats I'm literally chugging back the water as my breakfast. Or shall I say pre breakfast. Cheat snacks are great and all but very short lived. I would rather have an apple and a protein bar or almond butter. And not have my mouth feeling dry and gross. I want to treat my mouth, stomach and over all body with good and whole foods. I'm almost contemplating on meal prepping this week even though I'm off.

I'm not sure if I mentioned but I took this week off to relax. Focus on me. Treat myself to a spa day. Do what I want. I am doing zero chores. Going to catch up on my Focus T 25, writing in my journal (here),  watching my shows, visiting my parents and taking care of some errands. Stay tuned.

Update on goals

Hello again. It's meeee... 🙃 Okay so goal 1 ✔️ Completed Speed 1.0 with mama bear. I completed the day with 10,162 steps. My dessert was literally a sliver of cake (sister called it a crumb) haha with 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, few strawberries and walnuts. And I made a low carb lasagna and guess what? It was a huge success! So my mom makes this beautiful hollandaise based lasagna with chicken and asparagus. I took it upon myself to grad 1/2 cauliflower head and grated the stems of broccoli as my base. Did a layer of the sauce, chicken, asparagus, broccoli, cheese, and added (4) spinach noodles for texture. Topped it with Parmesan cheese and BOOM. Magic was born. Other lasagnas for the family included turkey with tomato sauce, and then (2) variations of the hollandaise other than my own- one with broccoli and the other asparagus. I was absolutely thrilled to find out mine was a success. Especially since I thought it was going to be like soup. Don't forget that when ...

Updates and Basil, Cilantro, Garlic Bread

I realize I haven't blogged in quite some time. Here's some updates since my last blog: - I moved - It wasn't my choice but it had to be done. The lady that owned our condo wanted us to buy it or leave. So we left (there were way too many things to be fixed and wasn't worth our time, energy and money). Now I live in the basement of my mother in law's home with my boyfriend, Jack. - I no longer consume animals or animal by products. I'm 90% vegan and I say 90 % because I cannot consume vegan cheese. Has anyone ever tried it? IT'S LEGIT THE SCUM OF THE EARTH. I eat cheddar cheese (only) once, twice or three times a month. So let's get down to business, to the reason why I made you come to this entry on my blog. The main way I cook in this basement is with my slow cooker. I came across a recipe on Pinterest for Vegan basil pesto bread which obviously sounds delicious. *Word to the non - vegans, pesto contains parmesan. There was a recipe to make vegan...

Phew. Really dodged a bullet there.

PRAISE THE LORD. Hallelujah! I was so prepared to blog earlier today about how nervous I was regarding this afternoon. I had a killer workout / training session planned with a friend and it was just confirmed that it's cancelled and we both rescheduled for next Wednesday. Just thinking about it was giving me an anxiety attack (okay that was far fetched) but it gave me the sweats! This woman was training with a Personal Trainer at GoodLife Fitness so the workouts are intense and now she makes her own loosely based on the PT she had prior. She was afraid to tell me what part of the body we would workout because she thought I would cancel! I'm always up for the challenge I'm just terrified of trying new things (alone). If I have a partner or someone there with me, it's not so bad but doing something new without any guidance and possibly "failing" .. I'm not into. Speaking of trying something new, I'm 99.9 % sure I'm going to try boxing. There'...
