April 1st

New month, new start. Well, technically my start will begin on Monday April 3rd. It will be a detox week of vegetables ONLY. Roasted vegetables in the oven or raw veggies .. but really, can you honestly say you crave raw veggies with no dip just plain? Ick. I can't say that at all. Half the time the veggies are so dry it feels like they get stuck partly on my uvula (you know the dangly thing at the back of your throat) - you're welcome, I taught you something. Gross name by the way.

There are only two vegetables I can eat raw and they are water based anyways - cucumber and celery. Cucumber is my all time favourite vegetable .. no offense celery, you are great and all but having to bite and have that stringy crap come only a bit - not my thing. It's so tough. I don't have razer blades for teeth. I'm just shaking my head thinking about that.

Good news. I said I would go to the gym early today and guess what? THIS B*TCH DID IT! =) I set my alarm for 6:20 am and woke up before it. Want to know why I woke up before it? Jack set his alarm for 6:00 am.. and another at 6:15 am and kept hitting snooze. His snooze button goes off every eight minutes. We didn't have to leave our place until 7:30 am. I still don't get his ways but whatever works for him, that's all that matters, right? So I got up at 6 (whatever I said), got changed and worked out my ... wait a second. This all sounds familiar - I'm just recalling that I already wrote about this morning. Haha! I must be hungry - I usually can't focus when I'm hungry. So let's recap - 100 abdomen and 200 obliques. PLUS this workout at the gym:

40 minutes of cardio: 20 minutes uphill and 20 minutes with zero incline. I ran for 2 minutes.. that's the most I've ever run on the treadmill for. I can honestly say my balance is incredibly and utterly terrible. I hold on to the machine with one hand and jog with my other hand waving around (I let my fitbit wrist move around) - gotta track those steps otherwise they don't count.

Workout continued (and 3 sets of 8):
Bicep curl: 25 lb
Tricep extension: 35 lb
Side crunch (each side): 25 lb - one of these days I'm going to try 30 lbs ..
Pectoral fly: 30 lb
Deltoid fly: 30 lb
Standing lat pull down: 2 sets at 15 lb, 1 set at 20 lb (before I did not do proper form so I was able to do more weight but again, I was doing it wrong)
Seated row: 40 lb
Hip abduction: 95 lb
Hip adduction: 120 lb
Seated leg curl: 45 lb
Chest press: 30 lb

I decided to do a full body workout today because I tend to feel guilty when I know what the rest of my day is going to be like. I'm currently sitting in the office waiting for the nurse to grab her botox and then after I know for a fact we are going to grab wings and beer. As you recall tonight is TWO celebrations which will include - mini quiches, assortment of dips, hummus, chips, party mix (MY ABSOLUTE FAVE OMG), spicy meatballs with brown rice, pizza pockets, perogies and wine. Pretty much a pig out night. I live for these nights. And I know for (fact number 2) I will not be doing much of anything tomorrow - except meal prep and POSSIBLY a short walk with K-star .. obviously for Pokemon Go purposes.

After Christine's wedding, this will be the last time in awhile before I start drinking again. As much as it breaks my heart to admit - everyone's right. I can't get fit as long as I have wine / booze in my life. My social life mostly is drinking. So I will have to say a proper farewell when the time comes. I'm not sure if I'll have time to post again later what with all the running around grocery shopping and cleaning I'll have to do before the guests arrive but I shall try. This one's for you K-star. Stay tuned!

PS: I'm over 10,000 steps and it's only 11:00 am.

Update on goals

Hello again. It's meeee... 🙃 Okay so goal 1 ✔️ Completed Speed 1.0 with mama bear. I completed the day with 10,162 steps. My dessert was literally a sliver of cake (sister called it a crumb) haha with 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, few strawberries and walnuts. And I made a low carb lasagna and guess what? It was a huge success! So my mom makes this beautiful hollandaise based lasagna with chicken and asparagus. I took it upon myself to grad 1/2 cauliflower head and grated the stems of broccoli as my base. Did a layer of the sauce, chicken, asparagus, broccoli, cheese, and added (4) spinach noodles for texture. Topped it with Parmesan cheese and BOOM. Magic was born. Other lasagnas for the family included turkey with tomato sauce, and then (2) variations of the hollandaise other than my own- one with broccoli and the other asparagus. I was absolutely thrilled to find out mine was a success. Especially since I thought it was going to be like soup. Don't forget that when ...

Updates and Basil, Cilantro, Garlic Bread

I realize I haven't blogged in quite some time. Here's some updates since my last blog: - I moved - It wasn't my choice but it had to be done. The lady that owned our condo wanted us to buy it or leave. So we left (there were way too many things to be fixed and wasn't worth our time, energy and money). Now I live in the basement of my mother in law's home with my boyfriend, Jack. - I no longer consume animals or animal by products. I'm 90% vegan and I say 90 % because I cannot consume vegan cheese. Has anyone ever tried it? IT'S LEGIT THE SCUM OF THE EARTH. I eat cheddar cheese (only) once, twice or three times a month. So let's get down to business, to the reason why I made you come to this entry on my blog. The main way I cook in this basement is with my slow cooker. I came across a recipe on Pinterest for Vegan basil pesto bread which obviously sounds delicious. *Word to the non - vegans, pesto contains parmesan. There was a recipe to make vegan...

Goals

Every day I try to accomplish mini goals. Today isn't just a regular day. Not like any other day.. no no no. It's a family get together. Family get togethers are like "it's someone's birthday you can have a little" "it's a celebration, have some wine / booze it would be a sin not to" "why aren't you having any of my birthday cake? So rude. Just a sliver!" Etc. I am thankful that my family understands and respects my choices of lifestyle. Not every family does. And some people just don't have the self control / will power. I get that. I've been down that road many times. And this is why I make mini goals. With that being said, today I propose to you my mini goals and then I will blog by the end of the night (or tomorrow) if I achieved them and what exactly happened... 1. Complete Speed 1.0 2. Reach 10,000 steps (even though my goal is 13,000.. usually on weekends I barely make it to 7,000) 3. Stay low carb 4. ACTUALL...
